What are the Silvan Folk?

The Silvan Folk are a group of likeminded individuals who share a passion for nature and express themselves outwardly through naturalistic fashion in earth tones, forest-thrifted items and hobbies such as naturalism, birding and art. They can often be seen with a leaf in their hair or a field guide in hand or a basket for collecting materials from walks in the woods. It is worth noting that it is not just about the clothes, but about being close to and a part of nature. We are inspired by the forest, our day to day living is inspired by the forest from ethical wildcrafting and botany to the music(Anything from Iron and Wine/Fleet Foxes to Mileece and the Living Plants)we like which is usually folk or any other type of nature inspired music. We tend to choose careers that focus on the outdoors and usually carry an audubon field guide on hand. Religious naturalism and nontheistic, scientific explorations of nature spirituality appears quite often and so does romanticism to an extent.
This website will serve as a resource centre for all types of Silvan Woodland Lovers to get together, and in time will have a message board. Resources such as pop culture, fashion tips and naturalism hobbyist advice will appear here. Do not be afraid to step off of the city streets and into the wild wild wood. Who knows who you may meet?
